Venus is a vivid account of voyeurism that details audience behaviours at the erotic fair of the same title in Berlin. More than focusing on the obvious erotic charge of performers in the adult film industry, Fujiwara dissects audience member’s skin and pallid excitement of subjects using personal technology to record events in the first person as they unfold. In this case, fingers pressing the “record” button on cell phones and cameras stream an alias for ownership and entitlement over forms of sexuality that seem, more than virtual, foreign and volatile to their individual lives.
